The Caribbean Community (CARICOM), is an organization of 15 Caribbean nations and dependencies. CARICOM's main purposes are to promote economic integration and cooperation among its members, to ensure that the benefits of integration are equitably shared, and to coordinate foreign policy. Its major activities involve coordinating economic policies and development planning; devising and instituting special projects for the less-developed countries within its jurisdiction; operating as a regional single market for many of its members (Caricom Single Market); and handling regional trade disputes. The secretariat headquarters is based in Georgetown, Guyana.

Since the establishment of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) by the mainly English speaking parts of the Caribbean region CARICOM has become multilingual in practice with the addition of Dutch speaking Suriname on 4 July 1995 and Haiti, where French and Haitian Creole are spoken, on 2 July 2002. IN 2001, the heads of government signed a Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas thus clearing the way for the transformation of the idea for a Common Market aspect of CARICOM into instead a Caribbean (CARICOM) Single Market and Economy. Part of the revised treaty among member states includes the establishment and implementation of the Caribbean Court of Justice.'

The English Caribbean community V The English African community? ?
Q. Why does the english Afro Caribbean community & the english African community have problems with each other? Well My dad didn't not like Africans (he is Jamaican) & I always thought this was strange but I have spoken to many other Jamaicans that don't get like Africans & visa versa I have heard & read that in some Jamaican night clubs Africans are not welcome. Myself I'm shocked by this & I think it's stupid that a small minority of people think like this but has anyone else came across this? Thnks for the info rob lol I know that lol

A. The immigrants and older ones are The black people born here no matter what background are bless with eachother most girls I went out with were of Jamaican decent. Maybe its because I live in London where Black people of African decent now outnumber the ones of Caribbean decent areas hate eachother and not backgrounds. In fact from my experience Black people of non Somali African decent are closest with black people of Caribbean decent while both have problems with the Somali decent ones. Outside London up north where the black people are predominately Caribbean they love to hate Africans there but oh well theyre ignorant Now for the older generation and immigrants its simply culture clash but same skin color so they want to make it… [cont.]

My trip to the Caribbean: Any suggestions how on to make your vacation an unforgettable one?
Q. Hi everyone! Okay, so I am leaving the United States to visit Island Jamaica for approximately 1 week on the 20th of this month ( December). Since I can only spend 1 week instead of 1 month, I want to make sure my vacation will be a satisfactory one. Thinking of things to do while I am on my vacation is being a challenge for me, so I am asking you ( the Answers Community) what activities you suggest when on a vacation on the Caribbean? Many thanks. Dad

We are on a cruise ship with a stop in St. Barts in early Dec. from 10-4Pm. The ship excursions sound lame. We do not enjoy hiking and will be snorkeling, sightseeing and sailing in Tobago, Barbados, T&C and St. Lucia as well.
