International finance is the branch of economics that studies the dynamics of exchange rates, foreign investment, and how these affect international trade. It also studies international projects, international investments and capital flows, and trade deficits. It includes the study of futures, options and currency swaps. Together with international trade theory, international finance is also a branch of international economics. Some of the theories which are important in international finance include the Mundell-Fleming model, the optimum currency area (OCA) theory, as well as the purchasing power parity (PPP) theory. Moreover, whereas international trade theory makes use of mostly microeconomic methods and theories, international finance theory makes use of predominantly intermediate and advanced macroeconomic methods and concepts. I'm about to start my college career and am majoring in international business with a concentration in finance. I speak Spanish fluently and am familiar in Italian. I want to go into international banking, but I want to find out what countries are big in international investing. I'm willing to learn an eastern language if that's what is necesary, but I would prefer a European country that's heavily involved in finance, as I speak two other European languages. Q. I know LSE has summer school for finance and economics topics, I want a course for derivatives or advanced topics in capital markets which can be beneficial for trading jobs. I am going to do a masters degree in finance this year but want to get summer schools courses from a top uni. LSE seems the best option but I dont know if other top schools in UK or USA has this type of summer schools. Thank you. Asked by ASA - Wed Jul 2 07:01:50 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. That is not easy to get summer school courses from a top UC unless you are already a student of that UC. I don't know about summer school. I think you should go to that UC's website and check out what courses they are offering in the summer.
