The Silk Road (or Silk Routes) is an extensive interconnected network of trade routes A trade route is a logistical network identified as a series of pathways and stoppages used for the commercial transport of cargo. Allowing goods to reach distant markets, a single trade route contains long distance arteries which may further be connected to several smaller networks of commercial and non commercial transportation across the Asian continent connecting East East Asia or Eastern Asia is a subregion of Asia that can be defined in either geographical or cultural terms. This, the major reason for the connection of trade routes into an extensive trans-continental network.[1][2][3] In recent years, both the maritime and overland Silk Routes are again being used, often closely following the ancient routes.
