How do I deal with jealousy and competitiveness?
Q. I am a very very jealous person, highly competitive with other females, and I'm afraid it's turning off my boyfriend. I don't want to be like this. Please help!
Asked by reba - Thu Dec 14 18:51:18 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Do you really like yourself, maybe being so insecure it is manifesting itself via your intense jealousy of other women. I think it is time to take stock of who you really are,and start to tell yourself that *Hey I'm alright and I'm attractive in my own right* The worst emotion to show is jealousy as that puts barriers between partners and finally destroys relationship. Feel good about yourself then relax be happy it's amazing how it will show via your personality and make you even more attractive to your partner... In other words confidence, without this you are vulnerable to jealousy so maybe work on this aspect of your life ..Good Luck

Is it human competitiveness that makes Catholics try to cover up pedophile priests?
Q. The competition that goes on amongst religions is fierce. They are all competing to hold the bulk of the human collective capacity for faith. In their eyes, is there no evil too unspeakable and no action too deplorable that they won t do it to make their religion more competitive in the religious market place or to maintain their religion s dominance?
Asked by Desiree - Fri Oct 23 17:46:55 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Maybe there's a element of that to it. But I think the primary impetus for that deplorable practice is trying to keep the massive cash cow alive.

I this economy, what competitiveness do you predict for admission to UC and private colleges?
Q. Please compare. Will they be more selective?
Asked by meloncholy canteloupe - Wed Nov 25 03:05:54 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. UCs are going to be very tough to get into because of the state of the economy. Privates, however, are going to see a decrease in applicants because of the cost of tuition. UCs will raise tuition 32% (as reported earlier this week), which makes it that much harder for the applicant pool. It's important to understand that UCs (especially) look for well rounded students. They want you to excel not only in academics but wide range of other things. I cannot stress how important the personal essay is. No matter what anyone tells you, your essay can make or break you. Good Luck!

Does the Academic Competitiveness Grant ever need to be paid back?
Q. I got it for last semester (Spring 2009) and now they want me to pay it back before I can confirm enrollment for Fall. I am not taking any classes this summer. I didn't drop any classes during spring, staying full-time the whole semester, and my GPA is 3.8 which is well above the requirement for receiving the grant. I should still be able to receive it since the money they are trying to take back was from my second year, first semester.
Asked by ragebassmasta - Mon Jun 29 19:16:14 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The word GRANT means you do not have to pay back. But, if for some reason you were given a grant and you were not eligible...then you must pay it back. The school should give you some type of explanation.

A. One of the first things you need to think about is being an honorable and dedicated member of the organization. The answerer who identified himself as "Ensign Cris Gammil" a USCGA graduate, also in the last few weeks identifies himself at currently attending the USCGA ("Yes of course, I currently go to the United States Coast Guard Academy") and otherwise being a USCG dependent (".My dad is a us coast guard sar pilot in Alaska and whenever they don't have a mission they are training or repairing the helicopter"). Do units from AP classes weaken my competitiveness for transfer to a UC?
Q. I want to transfer from a community college to a UC, majoring in political science. The school does not require that all classes pertaining to the major be taken for a letter grade. Still, do the credits I got for taking AP U.S. History and AP Political Science make me a weaker candidate? Should I retake them for a letter grade, even if my GPA is high? Thanks.
Asked by fslcaptain737 - Sat Mar 15 23:00:18 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You have to understand that high school is no more once you are going to transfer from a CC. The AP grades don't matter what so ever. In fact, some people who transfer to a UC don't even have a high school diploma. If you have taken the AP exam and have earned a grade of 3 or better, you can get credit for college credit, although in most cases, you will just earn a general credit. I think you should talk to a transfer advisor. Make sure to ask about TAG (transfer admission guarantee) to the UC schools.

How does a currency (exchange rate) impacts international trade competitiveness?
Q. I would really appreciate a short discussion on this topic. Thank you all!

A. Right now one american dollar is equal to 10 mexican dollars, so companies can go over to mexico and get lets say 500 lbs of beans at one dollar a lb for half the cost it would be buying it here in the us-the american dollar in the currency exchnge to convert it to whatever it is worth in another country is the key to the competitivesness. lets say one american dollar is worth .50cents in china, well that means it would cost twice as much to get that same bag of beans in china than it would in mexico, so we would take mexicos offer first. hope this helps.

A. if you're in a relationship with someone, there should be some sort of balance for things to work out. if you feel like you and your boyfriend are competing, its time to stop and take a look at what you're doing. competitiveness is dangerous because your relationship will begin to turn into some sort of game (who hurts the most, who yells the loudest, who's right most of the times). what are you really trying to prove to each other? you should never feel like you have to be better than him and neither should him. you should both be able to stay real and honest with each other. if you really love him and he really loves you, you'll both be able to realize that the arguments you've been having just to be superior have been hurting your… [cont.]

why is competitiveness healthy in a society?
Q. is it so that we get new industries etc? like industries are dying out such as butchers, barbers and video stores is that to make way for new things, and has this happened due to the advancement in technology?
Asked by fox - Mon May 18 07:58:00 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Because I believe is in the nature of human beings. People love to compete to be better. Competition makes things better for the benefit of the rest of the people. It does not matter if it is in the academic, sports or commercial field, if you have people competing the end result is going to be better. That is why this country is so great. We have the freedom to compete in all fields.

Q. What are 2 ways that lower wages in other countries reduce Canada's competitiveness?
Asked by Kimmy - Thu Mar 4 20:43:26 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. There are NOT 2 ways. All else being equal, higher costs reduce competitiveness. That is the ONLY way differences in wages impact competitiveness. In MOST cases, wages are the LEAST significant influence on national competitiveness. Government regulations normally impose MUCH more cost than wages.

A. Aw the inferiority complex. very common, if you aren't better than someone at everything than you are somehow worse or inferior that person. I feel that way a lot, which is why I am very self conscious. These experiences provide me a way to see that I don't have to be better than everyone at everything that I can just be myself (really corny).
